Platform Features

Post Your Stock. Get Offers. Close the Deal.
Not Just Enquiries.

M-EX is a structured exchange with a defined process for every transaction. Works for any size business, from a single-location stockist to a multi-branch distributor, without any changes to the platform.

Feature 1

Moderated Listings and RFQs USP

Every listing and RFQ goes through admin review before it goes live. Vague descriptions, incorrect grades, and unverifiable stock do not get approved. When you pay to view a listing, you are seeing material that has been checked.

Most B2B platforms have no moderation. Anything gets listed. M-EX does not work that way.

Feature 2

Three-Period Listing Process USP

Seller listings follow a structured three-period process. The seller controls the duration of each period within platform limits.

Period 1

Entry Open

Listing is live. Buyers pay the view fee to access full details and register interest.

Period 2

Offer Window

Registered buyers submit offers. Seller reviews each offer and accepts, counters, or rejects.

Period 3

Live Auction

Qualified buyers compete in a live auction. Highest bid at or above the reserve wins.

Feature 3

Buyer RFQ with Reverse Auction USP

Buyers post a requirement with grade, size, quantity, delivery location, required by date, and ceiling price. Verified sellers quote against it. The buyer runs a reverse auction to drive the rate down.

Step 1

Buyer Posts RFQ

Full requirement details with ceiling price and optional geo restriction. Reviewed and approved by admin.

Step 2

Sellers Quote

Sellers pay entry fee, view full RFQ, and submit quotes with rate, availability, and TC data.

Step 3

Best Quote Wins

Buyer accepts the best quote after reverse auction. Deal Confirmation issued to both parties.

Feature 4

Identity Released Only on Deal USP

During the entire listing, offer, and auction process, buyers and sellers do not know each other's identity. Name, business name, phone number, and address are hidden throughout.

Contact details are released only after a deal is confirmed. No unsolicited calls. No rate fishing before you have decided to transact.

Feature 5

Formal Deal Confirmation USP

Every completed transaction generates a Deal Confirmation document with grade, size, quantity, agreed rate, and full buyer and seller details. Both parties receive a copy.

This is a formal record of the agreed terms. It reduces disputes and gives both sides a clear paper trail for their accounts and logistics teams.

Feature 6

Geographic Restriction on Listings and RFQs USP

Both sellers and buyers can restrict participation to a defined area when creating a listing or RFQ. The restriction can be set by state, by specific districts, or by a radius in kilometres from the dispatch or delivery location.

When freight cost is a significant part of the landed price, this keeps the auction focused on suppliers or buyers who can realistically participate. A seller in Nagpur running a listing restricted to Maharashtra is not wasting entry fees on buyers who cannot absorb the freight.

Feature 7

Reserve Price Hidden from Buyers USP

When a seller sets a minimum acceptable rate on a listing, that rate is never shown to buyers. Buyers bid based on their own assessment of the material's value, not anchored to the seller's floor.

If no bid meets the reserve, the listing does not close. The seller is never forced to sell below their minimum.

Feature 8

User-Controlled Parameters

Sellers and buyers control key parameters when creating a listing or RFQ. You decide how many participants can join your auction or RFQ, and you set the duration of each period within platform limits.

A seller with a small lot can limit the auction to 5 bidders. A buyer expecting high interest can open their RFQ to 50 sellers. The platform works the same way regardless of scale, making it equally suitable for a small stockist or a large distributor.

Feature 9

Partial Quantity Acceptance USP

Sellers can mark a listing as accepting partial quantities. If a buyer wants only part of the listed stock, the seller can accept that deal and keep the listing open for the remaining quantity.

This avoids the situation where a large lot sits unsold because no single buyer wants the full quantity.

Feature 10

Material Photos with Access Control

Sellers can upload photos of the material with their listing. A featured photo (watermarked) is visible to all visitors including guests. The full set of approved photos is accessible only to buyers who have paid the view fee.

Photos are reviewed and approved by the M-EX admin team before being displayed. This prevents misleading or irrelevant images from appearing on listings.

Feature 11

Test Certificate Data on RFQ Quotes

When quoting on an RFQ, sellers can indicate whether a test certificate is available, whether the heat number is available, and whether a mill certificate copy can be provided. Sellers can also attach relevant remarks about the material's documentation status.

This gives buyers the documentation context they need to evaluate a quote, not just the rate.

Feature 12

Recurring RFQs

Buyers who source the same material regularly can set an RFQ to recur automatically at a defined interval. When the active RFQ closes, a new one is created automatically for the next cycle.

This removes the need to manually post the same requirement every month and ensures consistent market rates are captured each time.

Feature 13

Grade Intelligence Database USP

M-EX maintains a database of steel and metal grades across Indian and international standards including IS, BS, SAE, DIN, JIS, ASTM, GOST, and others. Each grade entry covers chemical composition, mechanical properties, common applications, and cross-standard equivalents.

Before you buy or list material, check the grade specifications and find equivalent grades from other standards. Useful when a buyer specifies a foreign standard and you need to check if your stock qualifies.

Feature 14

Prepaid Wallet with GST Invoicing

All platform fees are charged from a prepaid wallet. Top up your wallet and fees are deducted as you use the platform. View fees, bid fees, listing fees, and success fees all come from the same wallet.

Every deduction generates a GST-compliant tax invoice. Your full wallet statement and all documents are available from your dashboard at any time.

Feature 15

Listing and RFQ Alerts USP

Set up a saved alert with your exact criteria — grade, form, dimension range, minimum quantity, state, documentation status, surface condition, and processing condition. When a listing or RFQ that matches goes live, you get an email immediately.

You do not need to check the platform every day. The platform checks for you and tells you when something relevant appears. This works for both buyers looking for material and sellers watching for buyer requirements in their product range.

There is also an option to receive alerts only for geo-restricted listings and RFQs that include your registered location. If a buyer has restricted their RFQ to suppliers within a specific district or radius, and your location qualifies, you will be notified. This means you hear about trades where you are already on the shortlist.

Feature 16

Same Platform, Any Size Business

A single-location stockist with 3 MT of slow-moving EN8 bar gets the same listing quality, the same buyer reach, and the same deal confirmation as a large distributor moving 300 MT. There are no volume tiers, no premium memberships, and no minimum lot size.

The only requirement to join is a valid GSTIN. That is a legal requirement for any business doing GST-registered trade — not a barrier added by the platform. Once verified, every feature is available to every registered user at the same fee structure.

Feature 17

Full Transaction History and GST Documents

Every transaction on M-EX generates a complete document trail. Tax invoices, receipts, credit notes, debit notes, deal confirmations, and payment vouchers are all available from your dashboard and can be downloaded at any time.

Your accounts team gets what they need without chasing anyone. Every platform fee charged carries an 18% GST invoice under SAC code 998314. Your wallet statement covers every debit and credit in chronological order.
