What Data We Collect
We collect only what is needed to run the exchange. This includes:
- •Registration data — name, business name, email address, phone number, and GST details provided during signup.
- •Listing and RFQ data — material details, quantity, location pincode, and pricing information you enter when creating a listing or RFQ.
- •Transaction data — bids, offers, quotes, wallet transactions, invoices, and deal records generated through platform activity.
- •Payment data — UTR numbers and payment references submitted for wallet top-ups. We do not store card or bank account credentials.
- •Usage data — pages visited, actions taken on the platform, and device/browser information for security and debugging purposes.
How We Use Your Data
- •To operate the exchange: process listings, RFQs, bids, offers, and deal confirmations.
- •To generate invoices, receipts, and deal confirmation documents required for GST compliance and record keeping.
- •To send transactional notifications about your listings, bids, offers, RFQs, and wallet activity.
- •To verify accounts and prevent misuse of the platform.
- •To improve platform performance and fix issues.
Identity and Contact Details
This is a core protection built into how M-EX works. Your name, business name, phone number, and address are not visible to other users until a deal is formally confirmed.
During the listing, offer, and auction process, buyers and sellers interact through the platform without knowing each other's identity. Contact details are released only after both parties have committed to a transaction through the Deal Confirmation process.
This means you will not receive unsolicited calls from sellers or buyers you did not transact with.
What We Share and With Whom
- •Counterparty on deal confirmation — name, business name, GST details, and contact number are shared with the other party when a deal closes. This is required to complete the transaction.
- •GST authorities — invoice and transaction data as required under Indian GST law.
- •No third-party marketing — we do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or marketing platforms.
- •Service providers — email delivery (for transactional emails only) and hosting infrastructure. These providers process data only to deliver the service.
Data Security
- •All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
- •Database backups are taken daily and stored securely with limited access.
- •Admin access to user data is restricted to authorised personnel only and used for moderation and support purposes.
Your Rights
- •Access — you can view your own transaction history, invoices, and account data from your dashboard at any time.
- •Correction — if your profile data is incorrect, update it from your profile page or contact us.
- •Deletion — you can request account deletion by writing to us. Transaction records required for GST compliance will be retained as required by law. All other personal data will be removed.
- •Objection — if you believe your data is being used incorrectly, contact us and we will review the matter.
Cookies and Sessions
M-EX uses session cookies to keep you logged in and to maintain your activity on the platform. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. Browser storage is used only for platform functionality.
Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to how we handle data, we will notify registered users by email. Continued use of the platform after such notification means you accept the updated policy.
